Snow Day!

We had our first snow today! The boys of course were very excited. They went outside after we got back from church to play. There wasn't a bunch on the ground - but they were able to gather up enough to make snowballs and to eat! Jerrod took these pictures of the boys - he got some great shots!

Thanksgiving - Take 2!

Today was our second day of Thanksgiving celebrations! We went to my aunts house to celebrate with my side fo the family. The kids played and played and the other kids - oh I mean the men - stayed upstairs and couldn't come down until the Mizzou game was over! They did manage to tear themselves away from the tv long enough to grab food, and they quickly rushed back upstairs! I took my camera, but didn't take many pictures! In fact it wasn't until we were getting ready to leave that I realized I hadn't taken any! I got this cute shot of Treyton and my mom though. And I took the picture below of Logan on the way home! Needless to say - they wore themselves out!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I can't believe it's already Thanksgiving! This year has just flown by! We went to Joplin to visit Jerrod's family today. We had 4 stops! We started out at Philip and Joy's house. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to visit. The weather was very nice and we were outside some too! When we were leaving to go to our next stop, Owen discovered all the leaves! He had a blast playing in them for a few minutes!

After Philip and Joy's we went to our next stop. The kids had a lot of fun at Karen and Drew's. They played outside a LOT! Here's Treyton - again with a knack for fashion! They played with balls and ran around. Treyton even got a turn on the boys scooter!

After we left there we went to visit Grandpa Bob - he had gotten out of the hospital, but was still not feeling to well. Then we went over to Grandma Purdy's for more food! It was a long day, but the kids did have fun. Owen's eyes started getting swollen though. They were both really swollen and red by the time we got home. We have now figured out that he is allergic to cats. Poor guy - anytime we go somewhere with cats his eyes get really swollen and he gets miserable.

Grandparents Day!

©2008 Lifetouch

Okay Grandparents Day is officially in September, but Logan's school celebrated tonight! Bocca and Papa got to come up and so did Papa Gray. Grandma Purdy was going to come up, but Grandpa Bob had to go to the hospital today so she is taking care of him - please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

They had lots of fun tables with different crafts set up. Logan was actually the most interested in finding Griffin! Granted they had just seen each other a few hours before at school - but that wasn't enough! Owen had fun making crafts too. And there was a cookie table, so of course all 3 boys liked that!

After we left the school, we came back to the house. Bocca and Papa brought Owen's birthday present. He LOVED it! (So did Logan!)
Here is a pic I took of Treyton. He LOVES the GeoTrax as much as the older 2!

Happy Birthday Owen!

Today is Owen and Jerrod's birthday! Owen does tend to get more attention, but Daddy wasn't totally left out! We started out with presents. Mommy was a little behind, so not all of Owen's presents were wrapped! Logan picked out a present for Owen all by himself - Lady the train. And he wrapped it himself too. He also made Owen a card. It was really sweet.

Here is the front of his card. Translation - "HAB" = Happy; "BRDEY" = Birthday. Then Logan signed it. He drew streamers, and a table with a cake and a candle. And Owen is standing by the table.

The inside of the card. Translation: I; "Luv" = Love; "Yu" = You; "Brother"

And here is Owen opening up Logan's present. He LOVED it!
Here he is with his eyes closed waiting for his final gift - his scooter! Ever since Logan got his big scooter - Owen wanted one too!

Owen and Logan had fun playing with the new train rug!

Owen enjoyed his train brownie!

Owen went and got his haircut today too! We also went to Toys 'R Us and he spent some of his birthday money. I know it will suprise everyone, but he wanted a train!
Owen decided he wanted his birthday dinner at Olive Garden. Daddy was happy he didn't have to go to Red Robin again!

The end of the day!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today was Daddy and Owen's birthdays! I made Jerrod a pumpkin pie, and Logan picked out a present for him from the kids. Logan even wrapped it himself! He got him a Mizzou football. He also made Jerrod a card by himself. It was sooo sweet!

Here is Daddy reading Logan's card.
And here is the card. You can hold your mouse over the picture to see the card translated, or leave your mouse off to see the card as it is.

Parade

Today was the local Christmas parade. It was actually the first time we took the boys to a parade. It wasn't a big parade, but the kids had fun anyways. They stuffed their pockets with candy, and watched all the floats. It was pretty cold, but the parade wasn't very long! After we watched the parade, we walked across the street and Logan got his haircut.

Sick Family

Well 4 out of 5 of us ended up being sick over this past week and a half. We started with Owen. He was better by the next evening. Then Logan came down with it. Fever and complaining that his stomach hurt. After that we had Treyton throwing up - but no fever. Logan was better and once Treyton felt better Logan said he felt like he was going to throw up. I thought he was trying to get out of going to bed - I was wrong! I end up with a fever and my throat was killing me. I didn't want to be sick all weekend so I went to the doctor yesterday - strep throat! Not sure how I got that when the boys all had stomach issues! I ended up just getting a shot to start getting better soon. Although I almost passed out afterwards! I am not sure why that happened as shots don't usually bother me - I think it had more to do with my lack of eating from being sick. But we are all on the mend now (knock on wood!).

Sick Day :(

Owen was not feeling well today. He had a fever and was feeling kind of crummy. We didn't want him to sleep with Logan, because we didn't want Logan catching anything. Of course he didn't want to sleep alone in his room, so we brought his bed into our room and he slept in there with us! It's always so sad when little ones don't feel well.

Silver Dollar City Christmas

Jerrod had to go out of town for work, so Bocca came up and we went to Silver Dollar City to see the Christmas lights and have some fun! For the Christmas season they put up over 4 million lights! The kids love coming here and since it was so early in this season it wasn't terribly crowded!

The first thing we did was watch the Frosty show. During the show they invited the kids to come up onstage and watch. Owen went up, but Logan was being very shy and did not want to go up. Treyton was strapped down in the stroller! We were in the front row though, so they still had a great view. During one of the songs in the show they had the kids close their eyes and it started snowing on them. It was really neat. Logan wouldn't go on stage, but I did get him to pose with the fake Frosty outside!

Next we went to get in line for the Charles Dicken's A Christmas Story play. I knew from last year people really line up to get in there, so we wanted to make sure we were over there. We picked up a funnel cake and snacked on it while we waited. We all enjoyed that! There were also a lot of lights to see while we waited!

The actually play was fantastic! We got to sit up close for it too! We really enjoyed it. And at the end of this play - more snow! This snow didn't just snow on the stage - it snowed over the audience too! The kids really liked it!

After the play we had to ride the train! The boys were really looking forward to it. We went last year, and the line for the train was over an hour so they weren't able to ride it! Luckily without the big crowd this wasn't a problem. The train was covered in Christmas lights and they played Christmas carols. It stopped and you got to hear the story of the birth of baby Jesus and they had a Nativity in lights. It was all very pretty.

It was getting pretty late by this point, but the boys wanted to ride some of the rides. We went to the little kiddie area and rode the roller coaster, the flying elephants, the teacups and the swings! It was late and cold and we were the only people on all 4 rides! It was a really fun time and the boys all crashed on the way home!
