First Day of Kindergarten

My baby is officially in school.  Today was his first day of Kindergarten.  I have no idea where the time went.  He has been a little nervous lately.  So he wasn’t extremely excited today.  I of course wanted to take photos before school.  This was the expression I got…

I was like it’s kindergarten – you’re so excited, to which he replied – no I’m not!  I told him we would take pictures all day until he gave me a good one.  

Not fabulous but I’ll take it!  He’s smiling at least!  Once we got to school he started to be okay.  He was used to the routine from preschool, and we had already visited his class.  He went straight to his class, hung his stuff in his cubbie, went straight to his table and started coloring.  He was all school mode then – didn’t need me at all!  He even started posing for my camera!  That was a shocker!

He wouldn’t talk a bunch, but from what I did get out of him he had a great day.  I can’t believe how grown-up my baby is getting!  Tonight it’s early bedtime for everyone though!!!

Lightning Strikes

We have had some crazy weather here!!  I have seen some amazing lightning.  I just wanted a picture.  I didn’t get a picture of any of the really neat displays but I did get a couple of shots of lightning which I was excited about!  I hung out on the boys tower of the swing set with my tripod and waited.  I didn’t stay out long as it was raining!

My Little Graduate!

Well my baby had his preschool graduation!  Technically he doesn’t get out of school until next Wednesday, but the graduation was today.  It was such a cute ceremony!  It was a tad windy so the kids kept losing their hats!  Logan had a fantastic year of preschool and was blessed with 2 amazing teachers!   I hope the rest of his school years are as positive as these past 2 have been! 

Today was also Papa and Sissy’s birthdays!  Papa and Bocca came up and we all went out to lunch to Red Lobster.  When I asked Owen what he was going to eat he told me “Ummm I want chicken and a crab.”  He also had a lengthy conversation about all the “crabs” (aka lobsters) in the tank.  He wanted to know why she put them in there and many other things!

I got Logan’s graduation photo today!  I can’t believe my baby is graduating from preschool!  His graduation is this Saturday!  Where have the years gone? 

Final Soccer Game

Tonight was Logan’s last soccer game.  It is so neat to see how far he’s come.  This was his 3rd season playing soccer.  When he first started a year ago he had no idea on any of the ways of the game.  He ran when the kids ran.  He didn’t attempt to get in there and his favorite part of the game was snack time.  Well some things haven’t changed.  He still LOVES snacks!  But he really knows what he’s doing now.  He’s very active and gets right in there.  He knows how to play his position.  If he’s not supposed to cross the line he won’t.  He knows which goal is his and works to get the ball in that goal.  It’s like night and day from when he first started!  He always loves the final game because that is when the medals are passed out.  This is Logan’s 7th medal since he started playing sports.  I think we’re going to be overwhelmed with medals by the time Treyton gets involved!  And of course he loved his snack.  He got cookies tonight.  He was really thirsty later.  Jerrod asked if he got snacks.  I said yes he got a snack but no drink.  I guess whoever had drinks either forgot or wasn’t at the game.  Ummm we realized later who was supposed to bring drinks.  One guess.  Oops.

The Dog Ate Our Phone Line . . . No Really He did.

If you need to get in touch with us – and haven’t been able to – now you know why!  A couple of weeks ago our neighbor asked if we were having trouble with our phone.  We weren’t at the time – turns out his dog dug up and chewed up the phone line from underground.  Then all the rain came.  We started out with just an annoying hum on our end of the phone – then to static so bad you couldn’t hear anyone.  Now the caller id has gone out, so if someone tries to call we can’t even see who it was!  I called the phone company on Friday – they’ll rush right over and have it fixed no later than 7 days from when I called!  Joy.  So anyways if you need to get in touch please call me or Jerrod on our cells! 

The exciting life of a goalie…

Logan has been wanting to be a goalie for soo long.  He was very excited when it was his turn tonight.  His team is playing really well.  Too well in fact!  The other team never even crossed the center line.  Logan stood waiting, he checked to make sure the strings on the net were all in order, and then he just decided to sit down cross legged on the ground!  Ahh the exciting life as a goalie.  He was pleased though when the ladies at the supermarket told him what an important job a goalie is.  He repeated this to me!

In case anyone was wondering, we are still alive!  I’ve just been very very bad about keeping this blog up!  Logan is playing soccer right now, as well as having t-ball practice.  Owen will start tot-ball here too!  Logan got his spring pictures from school today – I thought his was soooo cute!

Tuesday

Not a lot going on today.  I did get my new tripod and remote in the mail, but didn’t set everything up to get any real pictures.  I got a few snapshots of the boys.  Here’s silly Treyton.  Logan and Owen were quite inventive tonight and built steps.  They took different sizes, boxes, laundry baskets, whatever they could find and built 6 steps up to Logan’s bed.  That kept them entertained for a long time!  Treyton even had fun going on the “steps.” 

My Little Picasso

Logan had today off from school for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  He went over to Griffin’s house for a play date.  They had a lot of fun.  While he was gone Owen had a blast painting some lovely pictures!!  I wasn’t aware that a single piece of paper could hold so much paint – but Owen really tested it!  He was also curious how he ended up with brown paint – as he didn’t have any brown paint to start with!

Wii Play

Yes we finally jumped on the Wii bandwagon!  The boys’ still had some Christmas money and so we all went in and got a Wii.  Logan is a huge fan, but he does have some issues with being a sore loser.  So we are having to work on that.  It’s pretty fun though!  I did have a sore arm after the first day! 

More Basketball

Logan had his second game today.  The other team was quite aggressive – they liked to get pretty physical!  But Logan had fun and their team won again – so he was happy!  Bocca and Papa came up to watch him play today too! 

Uncle Gordon

Uncle Gordon.  What more can I say?!  The boys love their uncle Gordon.  He is a lot of fun.  I think Uncle Gordon was a little jealous of all the boys’ toys – especially the light sabers.  He did have fun playing with them.  Logan and Owen love when Uncle Gordon comes down – he’s the ultimate play date! 

Maternity Shoot

I did my first maternity photo shoot tonight!  I was really happy with how the photos came out – of course it helps to have a gorgeous model!  These are of my sister-in-law Melissa who is due in March! 

Superheroes

Today the boys had fun finding costumes and playing.  We bought these costumes after Halloween this year.  It’s a great time for buying play clothes/costumes because everything is 75% off! 

Portraits!

Today I got my lighting set in the mail.  I was able to take some Christmas money to get it.  It was a bear to set-up but I did it!  I still have no clue how to use it, but I was able to snap some portraits with it!  The above picture isn’t actually using the lights, but I thought it would be fun to show the stuff and I needed cute models in there!  They are supposed to look excited!  :)
