Long, Fun Day!

It was quite a long day! I taught the boys' Sunday School class this morning. We talked about baby Moses. After church, we went and grabbed a bite to eat and went to look at furniture! We went to 4 different stores. I have a set I LOVE, but Jerrod still doesn't like anything! I have to keep working on him I guess. After we left the last store, we went to Bolivar for a Baptistm - actually 3 Baptisms! Since we were already down there, we went over and visited with my parents. We had dinner over there and then headed back home. It was dark when we got back, but Logan had been asking Jerrod if he could do some fireworks! We still have a lot of sparklers left over, so the boys did a few of those.

Then they played on the swing set for a few minutes (yes in the dark!) We then took them inside for baths. Afterwards they were all still wound up. I found Logan and Owen in Treyton's Pack n' Play! Silly boys!!

Swinging!

We got Treyton's new swing in and he absolutely LOVES it!! Today Jerry and Kathy stopped by for a little bit. They played with the kids on the swing swet and had a nice visit. Later we had some neighbors over for dinner and playing. Treyton had fun swinging and always laughs when he does it! Owen went down for a nap after Jerry and Kathy left. But he didn't wake up!! He got fussy once, then went back down. He slept and slept and slept. He didn't have a fever or anything - must have just been soo exhausted! He finally woke up - at 1:30 AM!!! Then of course he didn't want to go back to sleep. I made him a sandwich and snack since he hadn't eaten. Then he played with his cars and drew some pictures! I finally got him to lay down with me around 4:30 am! Not sure when he fell asleep - he was watching the Little Mermaid!

I Pledge Allegiance to a Miracle

Logan finished his first week of preschool. I think he had a great first week. I was looking over the newsletter they sent home and it stated the the kids said the pledge of allegiance each morning. So I asked Logan to say it for me. He did really well! So of course I had to tape it. We had a couple outtakes too!

Standing Up!

Treyton is still standing soo much! He will not attempt to take a step though! If he wants to get somewhere, he immediately goes down and starts crawling. I still don't think it will be too long. I am still missing my camera, but went ahead and used my point and shoot. Good news is I will probably be taking more videos, as this is the camera I use for that. Logan is getting sooo close to riding his bike with no training wheels. He wants us to hold him and then he will tell us when to let go. He is doing really well. I feel horrible though. I was putting on his helmet (safety first you know!), and he starts crying. I look and the skin on his neck is pinched in the clip on his helmet! I undid it and comforted him, but wow I felt horrible. Treyton had the dirtiest feet tonight! He was crawling in the backyard, then we went out front and he was crawling all over the driveway. His feet were just black! Needless to say everyone got baths!!

Sad Day for Cameras :(

Can you guess what is in that box? It's my camera!!! What on earth will I do? The flash is broken (again) on my camera, so I must send it off to be repaired. I am not happy that this will be the third time I've had to send it in. Now this isn't truly a major ordeal - but I am going to have withdrawal! I love my camera! Now you are probably wondering how I have a picture of my camera - if it's in the box. Well I do have another camera - but it isn't my dslr and it just isn't the same! I think if I try really hard though I will make it through the next week or two! But don't blame me if the picture quality is down!!

On a happy note, my mom came up today. After Logan left for school, my mom, Owen, Treyton and I went to eat at Cheddar's (yummy), and then went to the mall. We didn't really get to do much as we had to rush back to pick Logan up from school! We did pick up Treyton a monkey costume for halloween. I'm not 100% sure if that is the way I'm going to go, but I wanted to get him a jungle animal costume quickly because I wanted to make his birthday invitations. - Oh no - How am I to do that without my camera - ugh! Didn't realize that. Oh well - we'll figure something out!

Bath Time and a Frog

Jerrod had to go to a dinner for work tonight. He may be switching positions too. He still has to look into it and nothing is set in stone, but I hope this is a positive step for him. I took the kids to get some food then we went over to Taylor's to play. As we were getting ready to leave, Owen came over and said "look what I got!" He held out his hand to show me a frog (toad?). He then replies "I LOVE HIM!!!" It was pretty cute. He tried to ride his bike home while holding the frog in one hand. It was proving to be quite difficult. I finally convinced him to let the frog go and told him we could find frogs at our house. We got home only to discover we were locked out. Not sure how that happened! Luckily as I was going to get my cell phone to call Jerrod, he pulled in to the driveway. That worked out very well!

Swing Set Fun

I took a bunch of pictures of Logan enjoying his swing set after school. Thought it would be fun to put them all together in this fun picture! He is really loving the swingset. They all are!! Thanks again Bocca!

First Day of School

Logan had his first day of preschool today. Quite a change from last year! Last year Jerrod and I both took him and he got very clingy, started crying and saying "don't leave me!" It broke my heart!! Today he ran in, found his cubby, put his backpack up, and went and played. I had to ask for a hug. He hardly even realized I was there! He is lucky to once again have 2 great teachers. His class seems like a lot of fun. He said he had a great day. He drew, listened to a story, played outisde, played at center time and of course got a snack! I was suprised I got that much out of him. Usually I hear - "I don't remember." When we went to pick up Logan, Owen made himself at home too! Owen cannot wait to go to school!!

New Swing Set!!!

Jerrod worked hard and got the swing set finished today! Poor guy did most of it by himself! I had such a hard time waking up - I was soo exhasted still from yesterday. Jerrod worked all afternoon on the swing set. I helped him for a few hours and Logan was a big helper too. Jerrod would have him bring him washers and nuts and Logan would. Apparentely Logan knows which is which - which is more than I can say! Logan and I went to choir practice and then to pick up food and get the rest of his school stuff (preschool starts tomorrow!!). When we got home Jerrod had the swing set finished! I was quite impressed. Some of the neighbor kids came over and the kids played for quite some time. A big thank you to Bocca for the boys' birthday and Christmas present! They are absolutely thrilled! Owen was swinging when we got there and kept swinging for the longest time! After everyone left, I got on one of the swings and held Treyton on my lap - he LOVED it! He was laughing and having soo much fun! He also had a lot of fun crawling in the yard! He is still standing a lot - I don't think it will be too long before he takes a step!

Silver Dollar City - Again!

We went to Silver Dollar City again. This time, however, Grandma Purdy, Uncle Gordon, Aunt Melissa (and her little fetus!) all got to come along with us. This was actually the first time Jerrod and I could ride some of the rides together! Usually we have to swap out while we are watching the kids. So that was very nice. Poor Melissa couldn't really ride too many rides since she is pregnant, but I think she still had a good time. The kids really loved having everyone there with them. Logan was big enough to ride the kid roller coaster all by himself - and he insisted upon it. He did NOT want me riding with him - or anyone else - he wanted to sit in the seat all by himself. He even had his hands up the last time around! It was soo cute! Jerrod started feeling queasy after one of the big roller coasters - it ended up being only Gordon and myself on the last big roller coaster! Treyton was started to get restless and hot and tired. He actually crashed for a while. I do feel bad for the little guy when we are gone all day like that. He is stuck in his stroller for most of it. He is always sooo excited when we get home and he will crawl everywhere! We did of course ride the train again - and the boys loved it as usual. We stayed at Silver Dollar City until close! We drove back and stopped to eat. All three of the boys had crashed within 2 minutes of leaving the park! They were a little crabby when we went to the restaurant to eat! We got home at around 8:30, had our baths and showers and went to bed!! We were all exhausted!!

Dinner and a Swingset Delivery!

Today the boys' swingset was delivered! We had several of our neighbors over for dinner. We had a good time and the kids played a LOT! By the time we finished it was already dark. So we didn't get around to getting the swingset built. We did get a few pieces out and started a little bit of it. Jerrod refused to put the whole thing together by flashlight though! Guess I can't blame him for that. We did have the pieces out though and the kids already had fun playing on the slide - even though it was laying on the ground! Treyton started standing really well tonight too! He would stand up in the grass and stay standing for the longest time! I didn't get a picture of it though :(. I didn't get many pictures as we were out in the dark!

Preschool Open House

We went to Logan's preschool open house tonight. Bocca and Papa came up this afternoon to watch Owen and Treyton while Jerrod and I took Logan. We got to see his new classroom and meet his new teachers. Miss Julie and Miss Lee are very nice. He wrote his name with chalk for his cubby. He even got to play with trains and had a fun time banging a gong! He will already have at least one new friend. Our new neighbor Griffin is going to be in Logan's class. We also saw a few kids from Miss Pat and Miss Vickie's class. I am not sure if they will be in Logan's class or the other class. Both the afternoon and morning classes were there tonight. Logan is already looking forward to school. He told Jerrod and me that he wasn't going to cry at school this time like he did at first with Miss Pat's class. That kid has an amazing memory!

Learning to Ride

Logan is getting so close to riding his bike without training wheels. They have been off for a couple of weeks now and he can go for a little while without them. He can't get on or started by himself. The boys played outside for a little while today riding bikes and just having fun. Then we went to church. I was the one pushing Logan and running by him on his bike so I didn't end up getting any pictures of him doing it! I did get a picture of Owen riding his bike. He is doing really well with his too!

Another Typical Day

Again not much is going on! We went over to our neighbors' house for dinner. The kids had a lot of fun playing. Treyton had fun crawling all over. He loves to be free to roam! Owen loves riding his bike, but he did get in trouble a few times for going to far and not looking for cars. We are always watching him, but it still makes me soo nervous! Logan has been doing a great job at being a good helper for me. He will be starting preschool next week. We have some new neighbors in Taylor's old house and they have a boy who is Logan's age - exactly. They are going to be in the same preschool class too, so I am glad he will have a friend already! I can't believe he will be in kindergarten next year! What happened to my little baby?!

Monday

Isn't that the most creative title? Things are settling down and we are back to our normal routines. Logan is learning to ride his bike without training wheels. Today our neighbor Blake came over and helped Logan a little bit. I don't think it will take Logan long to get it!

Back to Work

Jerrod's vacation is officially over :(. I think we are all sad about it! Treyton did have a milestone today though - he learned to clap!! He did it once during the day, but didn't do it for Jerrod when he got home. We were over at the neighbors later and he was doing it over and over again. He is soooo excited about his new trick!

I do need to point out that getting Treyton to perform for the camera wasn't quite as easy as it appears. This was one of our first attempts:

A Birthday Party and a Carnival!

Today was a fun and busy day for the kids. First in the afternoon we went to Hallie's third birthday party. It was a pool party and the kids had a lot of fun! Logan is still a very messy eater. Treyton wasn't having too much of the pool today. He loved looking at the balloons though and of course eating cake! The water was a tad cold. When it was finally time to leave we had the kids all ready and Owen had his shirt and shoes on. We were saying good-bye and we look and Owen is back in the pool - clothes and all!

After we got back home and changed, we ended up going to a local carnival. Our neighbors went there, so we met up with them. It was really a rinky-dinky type thing and I'm sure the rides have been around since I was their age, but the kids had a blast! However, right when we were getting ready to leave, the power went out over half of the carnival and all of the rides. Not sure how long it was out, but I feel for the people who were on the top of the Ferris wheel! I didn't have my good camera at the carnival and the batteries on my little one died quickly after we arrived! I managed to get some shots but they aren't great! Jerrod took the picture of me and Treyton on the carousel - it's a tad blurry but I had to post because I thought it was such a cute picture! Treyton had sooo much fun on it!

A Regular Day

I am soo behind in updating this blog that today is actually 8/20! I'm trying to remember and go back and post everything that happened! Unfortunately my memory isn't the best! I am not sure what all we did today but I did take some pictures. Here is Owen enjoying some grapes!

At the Lake

We were all going to go to the lake today with our neighbors, but I was starting to feel exhausted from our busy week! So Owen, Treyton and I stayed home to rest, and Logan and Jerrod went to the lake. I did tell Jerrod to take my camera though, so I got some pictures of it! Jerrod said Logan loved the lake. He would swim by himself in the water - with his life jacket of course! He also said he let Logan help drive the jet ski and he had a blast! They had a very fun day!

Silver Dollar City

We got up early and went to Silver Dollar City. Logan was much better about riding some of the rides this time. Treyton also got to ride a couple too! Of course we had to ride the train and Logan said "I bet those two guys will try to rob the train again!" Wouldn't you know it - he was right! We also went on this one raft ride that Treyton got to go on as well. We had another fun day, but Owen had it a little rough. On the little pirates boat ride on one of the turns his head went forward into the bar and he got a bloody nose. Then after he rode the huge water slide he was excited and running and fell and scraped up his knee. Luckily a bandaid cheers him right up! Logan actually rode the big water ride this time and you can see his look of terror! He had fun though and rode again! They also had a farm area and the boy's go to "milk" a cow. Unfortunately Bessie was all dried up! We once again had three exhausted boys on the way home! We went to church that night and needless to say were pretty exhausted!!

Celebration City

Day 2 of Jerrod's vacation. He took the boys fishing again and Logan and caught more fish! This afternoon we went to Celebration City. It was a lot of fun. One of the first things we did was go on the big water ride. We watched it one time and Owen immediately said "My Turn!" So I took him on it. He of course wanted to go again. Logan was still scared and wouldn't go, so Jerrod took Owen again. Then I took him. Then Jerrod was taking him again. Logan was still scared, but we finally got him to get on it. Once he was finally on he loved it. So they rode again then I rode with both boys a couple times too! We spent a LOT of time on that ride and thankfully there weren't really any lines!

Then we spent some time going through the rest of the park. The boys had a lot of fun. We found another water slide that the kids liked too! (Logan and Owen are both on this ride with Jerrod, but they are hard to see!! Owen is in front of Jerrod and Logan is sitting behind him!)
There were a lot of fun kiddy rides too. You can tell Owen was getting sleepy in the second picture here. And I absolutely love the third - I saw it and loved how gorgeous their eyes looked!
Another favorite activity was the water fountains. The boys loved those. It happened to be right next to one of the larger roller coasters, so Jerrod and I took turns watching the kids and each went on that once time. It was really fun too.
Jerrod and Logan had fun riding the go-carts. Unfortunately the long was sooo long and it was almost dark that Owen and I didn't get a chance to ride.
After dark Celebration has a big laser/water/fire/fireworks show. The boys go some light up necklaces and really had fun. Treyton was actually able to get on a ride this time! He rode the ferris wheel with us. He was very excited to be able to get out of the stroller and he also really liked the fireworks show! He had been asleep, but they woke him up and he had a blast. All three boys crashed in the car on the way home!
