1 Year Check-Up!

Today was Treyton's one year check-up. That year flew by way too fast! Treyton weighs 22 and a half pounds! Everything looked great and he is a healthy boy! They were out of one of the shots that he needed to get so he will get that on his 15 month check-up. That meant he only had 2 shots today. The bad news is at his 15 months check-up he will be getting 4 shots. Poor guy. :( They also took pricked his finger to test for lead levels. He was not pleased with that. He didn't do too bad during the initial prick, he whimpered some, but I got him calmed down pretty quickly. He was really upset, however, that she wouldn't let go of his finger. He started getting pretty mad about that - I finally was able to distract him and he stopped crying and she said the blood came a lot faster when he was relaxed. He got his shots after that, so needless to say he was not a happy camper. Dr. Meyer had asked about flu vaccines. Treyton has to get the shot, but it's a bit to early for that still. However the flu mist vaccine has a longer period and was able to be given right away. You have to be over 2 to get it, and since Owen was with me, he asked if we wanted to go ahead and do his. It doesn't hurt, but they said some kids don't like it because it goes up their nose. I was busy with Treyton while they started Owen. They had already done one side and I didn't even notice! She told him to sniff in like he was smelling flowers or cookies and he did! He did soo good and didn't make a peep. He was pretty excited that he got "medicine in his nose!" Logan was at preschool when we went, but he will have his appointment coming up soon. I am sure he will get that vaccine then.
