Dentist

Today Logan and Owen had their very first dentist appointments. I had talked to Logan about it and told him it wouldn't hurt and what they were going to do. It seemed as if he was doing okay with it. However, once we actually got into the dentist's office - he was very nervous. Owen also refused to go. He was throwing fits. Logan got called back first. Poor guy was sooo scared. I ended up having to hold him on my lap at first. I sat in the chair with him on the lap and the very sweet assistant showed Logan everything on her tray. She let him try them out and see how the felt. She also told him everything that was going to happen. They also have t.v.'s in the rooms and he got to pick what he wanted to watch. He also got to pick which flavor of toothpaste they would use to clean his teeth with! He chose cookie dough! Can you believe that!? They had a lot of flavors. Owen also got called back shortly after, so we had both boys going at the same time in different rooms - good think Jerrod was able to take off in the afternoon and help me! Owen was having a great time. The assistant was already half way through his cleaning when I went in to check on him. He was really enjoying himself and being such a good boy. Logan was being good too, but he was still very reserved. Owen chose cotton candy for his tooth paste flavor. After his teeth were all cleaned, Owen got to pick out a tooth brush and he got stickers too! Then he got a coupon for a free kids meal at Red Robin. Logan did the same when he was finished. The dentist came in and saw Owen first. He counted his teeth and looked at them all. He has 20 teeth and no cavities! There was one tooth that they want to watch though and told us to brush it carefully so we'll have to make sure to get that one really well! Logan also had 20 teeth and his looked great. The dentist was also fantastic with the kids. It really was a fabulous experience. I am so grateful our neighbors reccomended them. The only problem we had, was that Owen didn't want to leave. He hopped back up in the chair! He would have stayed all day and got his teeth cleaned again and again!
